Luke's 1st Birthday

Yesterday was my baby boy's first birthday! My baby is growing up so fast, he's such an amazing little man already!!

I thought I would share with you all the invite & card I made for his birthday. I have used the retired Sprinkles & Sunshine Designer Series Paper for both - it's still available in the Clearance Rack, but only while stocks last.

Firstly, here's the invite I sent out for the BBQ we're having for him on Sunday.

I have started with a Whisper White cardstock base, layered with the DSP & Marina Mist cardstock. I have used the Number of Years stamp set for the sentiment & the number 1, stamped with Marina Mist ink. I have used the matching Large Numbers dies to cut the number 1 & I fussy cut the sentiment. Both are propped up on Dimensionals.

This is the birthday card I made for Luke:

I have used a Daffodil Delight cardstock base, layered with three different prints from the DSP. I have used the Number of Years stamps & matching dies again for the number 1, this time in Daffodil Delight cardstock, heat embossed with Iridescent Ice emboss powder & my heat tool & propped up on Dimensionals.

The sentiments are also from the Number of Years stamp sets. I tried to stamp them in Daffodil Delight first but I didn't think it showed up enough, so I went over it with Marina Mist & now it's green haha! Lucky there is also green in the rainbows! And lucky I laid out all my stamps first & then collected them all onto the biggest clear block, so I was able to stamp directly over the top of my yellow ones & get them to line up perfectly!!

I have followed the same layering on the inside, this time using a blue cloud print from the DSP & heat embossing it the same way. The sentiment is also from the Number of Years stamp set but I have used washi tape to cover the top line which says "the number of years". I didn't feel this extra line really fitted with a 1st birthday card. I have used Marina Mist ink.

This is the whole of the inside. I have made a little pocket on the left as I wrote Luke a letter for his first birthday & I wanted to keep it in the card as a momento. I have just stuck down the two outer sides of the triangle I can slip the lettter in there.
