Aim for Alaska Blog Hop - Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek - Season of Christmas

Hi Crafters!

We have an extra special Aim for Alaska Blog Hop for you today, showing off all the new products you can get from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. Customers can order from this catalog on 1 September. Need a copy?

You may be wondering what this hop is all about – we are a group of demonstrators that are part of a support program set up by Kylie Bertucci. In this group, there is a wealth of knowledge from Kylie and her guest speakers designed to help demonstrators reach their goals within Stampin’ Up! This group has almost run it's course, but Kylie has started a new Go for Greece group to keep us all on track for the next incentive trip (a Cruise to the Greek Isles) or whatever our goals may be xx

I have used the new Season of Christmas stamp set. It is so beautiful, I just fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in the new Holiday Catalog! I have used Wild Wasabi & Tranquil Tide for the tree, Soft Suede for the branch & gold heat emboss for the baubles, star & sentiment. The font in this stamp set is really lovely.

I have stamped the sentiment on a little scrap of Berry Burst cardstock, cut it into a banner & added a little of the Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon underneath. I have used the Watercolour Wash background stamp in Soft Sky on Shimmery White cardstock & layered that on a piece of the gold & white tartan print from the new Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I have stamped the inside & envelope to match with Berry Burst & Wild Wasabi.

Please make sure you hop around the rest of the crew & check out all their amazing projects! Remember to leave a little blog love on each one in the comments - everybody loves a bit of blog love xx

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Debbie Henderson

Hi Crafters!

Some exciting news for you today! We are CASE-ing (Copy & Selectively Edit) the lovely DEBBIE HENDERSON, who is also joining us on this hop! Exciting!

I hope you find great inspiration from all the projects in this hop. You may be starting the hop here at my blog (Jessie Holton) or you may have come from the previous person on the list. Be sure to click on the next person in the list to continue your blog hop adventure casing Debbie's work.

Here is Debbie's card which I've chosen to Case. I just love this layout!

I have applied this layout to a card I've made for a party I just had yesterday morning with some very lovely ladies, who both joined my team! Welcome to the Possum Posse Team Jess & Danielle! This is actually the jazzed up version that I made for Jess, who's party it was. The card we made at the party had Basic Black ink instead of Copper Heat Embossing & Black Shimmery Ribbon instead of Berry Burst Ribbon.

I've used a Thick Whisper White cardstock base with the gorgeous Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack. This DSP is awesome value & has some really beautiful prints in all the new InColours.

The Finely Woven Ribbon (shown here is Berry Burst) is really soft to touch & really easy to work with & tie into bows. I have also stamped one of the little birds inside in Berry Burst to match.

I hope you have enjoyed my card. Please make sure you hop around the rest of the crew casing Debbie's work, you don't want to miss any! xx

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Image may contain: text

Hi Crafters!

Hi guys! We have an extra special Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for you today, showing off all the new products you can get from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. Customers can order from this catalog on 1 September. Need a copy?

I have soooo many favourites from this gorgeous new catalog! I usually tend not to mix my suites too much as I like to show that you can make beautiful creations with minimum products. But I took the chance to make a Mash Up card to send out to all my customers with a copy of the Holiday Catalog & show them all the gorgeous little bits in person. I really hope my customers enjoy receiving these packets in the mail!

I have used the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder on Glossy Cardstock for the background. I have first mixed Pool Party ink with rubbing alcohol & sponged a little into the middle of each piece, but then I thought it was a bit plain, so I lined up all the pieces on my kitchen bench & splashed them with the remaining ink mix. I was much happier with the splashed backgrounds, but I died my hands blue... again! haha! I really must learn to wear gloves!

I have made a bunch of cards in the same layout but I have used a mix of:
  • Black & Pumpkin Pie cats from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper & cut out with the coordinating Cat Punch! OMG I LOVE THE CAT PUNCH!!
  • Gold & Silver Year of Cheer Embellishments
  • Gold & Silver Foil Snowflakes, cut in halves

I've also added:
  • Year of Cheer DSP (copper & champagne) fussy cut
  • Painted Autumn DSP (pumpkin pie & floral) cut out with the Leaf Punch - a must have!
  • Black Rhinestone Jewels
  • Vintage Crochet Trim
  • 7/8" Striped Ribbon
  • Merry Music DSP
  • Silver Metallic Thread (from the Annual catalog)
  • The sentiment is from the Painted Autumn stamp set, inked up with Pool Party.

I took the opportunity to use the gorgeous Painted Autumn stamp set on the front of the envelopes, too. This stamp set is gorgeous! The colours I've used are Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach (for both parts of the two step flower), Daffodil Delight & Soft Suede.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today! I certainly had a LOT of fun making them, blue hands & all haha!

HOT TIP: Mixing Metallics is in this season! Have fun making some super sparkly cards for the special people in your life! xx

Please hop around the rest of the crew & see all of their projects too! It's sure to whet your appetite for this gorgeous new catalog!

Ink & Inspiration August Blog Hop - Label Me Pretty & Playful Backgrounds

Hi Crafters!

Welcome to the August Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! This month we are all getting our inspiration from my face cleanser haha!

So the story behind the cleanser is I get in the shower every morning & look at this bottle & think to myself 'I must case this'. I spend way too much time staring lovingly at this bottle. I love the layered shades, the colours, the different shapes & patterns. And it's a great cleanser haha! I thought it would be a little quirky & fun to do - inspiration can come from anywhere! The colours I picked out on this bottle are Tempting Turquoise, Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo & Tranquil Tide.

Do you have moments where you're inspired by random things around your house?  I started off with a plan to replicate this bottle pretty closely in the colours & I wanted to try & also replicate the layering of the colours. So I had this piece of Glossy Paper that I'd sponged with Tempting Turquoise from this previous post & I decided to add Lemon Lime Twist to half of it in a couple of layers with rubbing alcohol (Isocol).

Then I Clear Heat Embossed the full circles from the Playful Backgrounds stamp set & wiped over it with some Isocol to try & remove some of the colour so that the bits I had heat embossed stood out a little more. I wasn't really happy that enough colour had come off so I wet it again with more Isocol & sprinkled it with salt flakes, which has left a lovely textured effect but I think next time I will try rock salt to get some bigger patterns.

Next I White Heat Embossed the circle outlines from the Playful Backgrounds stamp set & adhered the Glossy Paper to a Melon Mambo layer. I've added a strip of the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon & the Striped Ribbon is from the new Holiday Catalog. I've stamped the Label Me Pretty stamps - border in Lemon Lime Twist & Basic Black for the sentiment & punched with the Pretty Label Punch. I've also punched a piece of Tranquil Tide & then cut that in half & glued it behind the sentiment to show as a border. The thank you sentiment is also from the Label Me Pretty stamp set, inked with White Craft ink & stamped onto Melon Mambo, cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies - my personal fave!

I think I could have stopped here & had a pretty good card, but I decided to jazz it up a bit cos I've got all these new toys from the upcoming Holiday Catalog & I just couldn't help myself!

New Holiday Catalog items I've used on this card:
  • 7/8" Striped Ribbon 144624
  • Year of Cheer Embellishments (silver) 144643
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (copper/champagne) 144640
  • Black Rhinestone Jewels 144639

And I added some Black & Silver Metallic Thread cos you know I just love the stuff!

HOT TIP - Mixing Metallics is in this season! Have fun & make a super sparkly card!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! Please make sure you hop around the rest of the crew to see all their beautiful projects, you don't want to miss any! xx
