Butterfly Basics Bundle

Oh my gosh! This stamp set has been on my wishlist forever! I have only just opened it up now & I AM IN LOVE!!!

I made a birthday card for my mother-in-law, who loves all things turquoise. I started off with a Lost Lagoon cardstock base (this is the other half of the 12x12" sheet I used for for my Anniversary card to my hubby yesterday). I had a look around at the current Challenges & found these two that I thought I could use for inspiration:

I thought the two sketches were really similar. I love pretty, frilly things & this card just made me so happy! Don't you just love it when you make something you're so proud of? I cased the Butterfly Basics card out of the catalog, too! You can see it in the picture of the stamp set I have down further in this post.

First I stamped the honeycomb pattern over the Lost Lagoon cardstock in Whisper White craft ink & added the two strips of Glitter Tape in silver & white - this is a Sale-A-Bration item & is only available until 31 March! Ask me how you can get yours FREE before they run out!

Next I cut out the Whisper White rectangle & stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow - I have used the stamping off technique for this, stamping the leaf three times without reinking in between. My Mossy Meadow ink is fairly wet, so they all turned out quite dark. I have also stamped the coin twice in Early Espresso.

Then I stamped the whole flower image onto Whisper White cardstock in Mint Macaron & again in Calypso Coral. I have fussy cut the whole Mint Macaron image & stuck it down with Glue Dots. I have just cut the flowers out of the Calypso Coral one & stuck them over the top with more Glue Dots. The sentiment is also stamped in Mint Macaron.

Next, I cut a slightly larger rectangle of the Calypso Coral print from the Wildflower Fields DSP to frame the White & bring out the colour of the flowers a little more - this is a Sale-A-Bration item & is only available until 31 March! Ask me how you can get yours FREE before they run out!

I added a little of the Mint Macaron Lace - it is so soft & lovely! I have used the matching Butterfly Basic dies to cut the Silver Foil butterfly on my Big Shot with the Precision Plate. I have used Silver Metallic Thread to tie the butterfly, tag & button all together. The button is from my stash. I have stuck the whole lot down with a couple of Glue Dots in the center of the butterfly & another under the tag. Glue Dots are super sticky!

On the inside, I have used the other sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set & the coin again, all in Mint Macaron. I have layered the card the same way as the front to match.

This is the beautiful Butterfly Basics Bundle (and the card I cased from the catalog)! I can't believe I waited so long to get it, it's just so lovely! Click the image to go to my Online Shop.
