OSAT August Blog Hop - Kids Theme

Hi Crafters!

Welcome to the OSAT Blog Hop for August! This month's theme is Kids or Back to School. As it's the middle of the school year over here in Oz, I've made a kid's card. I just got this Birthday Memories Suite & stay tuned if you're local cos I'm going to have a Stampin' Bingo Event with it & I'd love for you to come along. This Suite is so gorgeous, you're going to love it!

You may have come around the blog hop from the beautiful & talented Marisa Gunn or you may be starting here at my blog. Either way, I hope you hop all the way around, there are some amazing projects to see this month!

I have cased this card on one that Louise Sharp blogged back in May. Louise's is beautifully watercoloured, but I have decided to use the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP) for a similar look.

I've used a Thick Whisper White base with a couple of tiered layers of Whisper White, the top one embossed with the Polka Dot embossing folder. I've added a bow with the Stitched Edge Ribbon in Pacific Point & propped up the two layers of White with Dimensionals.

Next I cut the girl out from the Birthday Memories DSP with my Trimmer & cut a slightly larger piece of Real Red cardstock. I have used the corner rounder punch on my Envelope Punch Board & then glued the two pieces together. I have adhered this piece to the card with Dimensionals, leaving a gap in the middle for the ribbon to go through.

I just love the cute face on this little girl. It reminds me of our family friend Aoife (pronounce Ee-fa) who will be receiving this card & box for her second birthday. She is an absolute gem of a little girl with huge brown eyes. Just beautiful. Her name & mother are Irish.

I have stamped the envelope & inside of the card to match in Blushing Bride, Real Red & Pacific Point. The images are from the Birthday Delivery stamp set & there are also coordinating Birthday Friends Framelits dies that match the images in the stamps & the DSP. Usually you just get the stamps & dies in a bundle, but the DSP is also included in this bundle & you save 10% when you buy the bundle.

I also made a little box full  of snakes (lollies) to accompany the card. I have used one of the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes, lined with a piece of the cake design paper from the Birthday Memories DSP. I have cut this strip of paper 21cm long, scored at 5cm intervals & then you have 1cm left at the end. I have used my Envelope Punch Board to corner punch the 1cm section & then used my snips to make a little incision at each end of the score line, so it tucks in nicely with the lid of the box.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today & that you hop around & see what each of the crew have designed for this fun theme! I also hope Aoife doesn't eat all these snakes in one go & get all buzzed up on the sugar rush haha!

Next stop is the wonderful Jenny Hall. You certainly won't want to miss her gorgeous projects! xx
