How exciting is this!! I've been asked to be a monthly contributor to the One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Blog Hop!! I'm so thankful for the opportunity to mix it up with some really amazing international super stars. I hope you enjoy what I've got for you & can come along for the ride each month.
This month, I've got a little Hexagon Box & matching card using the Window Box Thinlits from the new Occasions Catalog. I fell in love with this little box as soon as I saw it & I'm so happy with how this first one has turned out! I'll be making lots more of them, I'm sure haha! Check out the Stampin' Up! video here.
My initial idea was to put a tea light candle in the box as I've made a bunch of little holes in the sides with one of the framelits & I wanted to see the light flicking through it. But then I thought FIRE HAZARD!! Haha! So I lined it with Gold Foil paper instead & I just love the effect!
I've made the card with a Basic Black cardstock base, layered with Gold Foil & another piece of Basic Black cardstock, which I've cut out the main top framelit from the Window Box Thinlits, tied with the beautiful new Gold & Vanilla ribbon (Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack) from the Sale-A-Bration catalog & propped up on Dimensionals. I also Gold heat embossed a large wooden heart outline from the new Sending Love Embellishments & attached it with a little Gold Metallic Thread.
You can get this ribbon for free with any $90AUD purchase from my Online Shop. See below for more details. Do you live in Australia & you don't yet have the new Occasions & Sale-A-Bration catalogs? Get yours here!
I've followed suit on the inside with a layer of Gold Foil & a layer of Whisper White cardstock, which I have Gold heat embossed with Versamark & the Heat Tool. The sentiment inside & on the front, as well as the flower image all come from the new So In Love stamp set from Stampin' Up!
For the box, I have cut two of each of the main box thinlit in Basic Black cardstock & Gold Foil. I die cut the main flower image on one of the top pieces (as the other is underneath the box) & the dots framelit on all six side pieces on the Basic Black cardstock. Then I have cut the Gold Foil down to the two lengths to go around the sides & one top piece to fit inside the box & adhered with Fine Tip Glue. I used paper clips to hold it together while it dried & then assembled the box with Tear & Tape.
Lastly, I have tied more of the gorgeous Gold & Vanilla ribbon around the box in a bow & tied a small heart from the Sending Love Embellishments to the bow with more Gold Metallic Thread. I have also Gold heat embossed this smaller heart.
TIP: When heat embossing the wooden hearts, you must do it quickly so it doesn't burn & use a pair of scissors or something to hold it so it doesn't blow away.
I hope you've enjoyed my first project & card for the 2017 OSAT Blog Hop & that I get to see you again next month! Please click the next button to continue on your OSAT Blog Hop journey. Next up is the lovely Wendy Cranford xx
