GDP #019 Entry

Today I've been playing with the Birthday Blooms & For the New Two stamp sets, making some more wedding cards. I've also learned two new techniques! I got the Heat Tool & the Emboss Powders a few weeks ago but I've got to admit, I was scared to use them. I thought it would be hard, but I really love it!! And the other technique I have tried is water colouring, which the big rose in the Birthday Blooms set is just perfect for, I think :)

I've made two cards, same same but different. I've made both cards from one 12x12" sheet of Blushing Bride cardstock, folded in half & cut in half. Here is the first one:

I got the new Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Occasions Catalog & isn't it gorgeous!! There are so many lovely prints in there, it was hard to pick which ones to use for these cards! I have teamed the Watermelon Wonder/Blushing Bride roses print with Gold Foil cardstock.

I have heat embossed gold powder onto Shimmery White cardstock, using the Versamark stamp pad & then coloured the rose in with Watermelon Wonder ink using a Blender Pen. The middle is done in So Saffron ink. I have used Mossy Meadow ink for the rose leaves & Old Olive for the other leaves. All of these colours match the Birthday Bouquet DSP.

The rose is from the new Birthday Blooms stamp set, also from the Occasions Catalog. The sentiment is from the For the New Two stamp set. I have used Snail glue to adhere it all.

On the inside I have used the same set of DSP, gold foil & shimmery white cardstock. I have also heat embossed in gold another sentiment from the For the New Two stamp set. I have added a money pocket on the left side with a strip of Pool Party Glitter Ribbon & a little Bow Paper Clip (so cute!!). There is also a strip of glitter ribbon under the shimmery white on the right side of the card, that you can just see peeking out.

I have entered this card into the Global Design Project #19 competition - wish me luck! Their theme this week is LOVE!

Here is the second card, same same but different!

The second card is actually the first one I made. For this one I have used Blushing Bride ink to colour in the rose & layered the DSP with Gold Glimmer cardstock & the DSP with the Pool Party/Mint Macaron roses. I have used the same green inks to colour the leaves.

Which one do you prefer? I can't make up my mind!!
