Erica's Baby Shower Gift & Card!!

Finally I can share the blanket I made for Erica & the card!! Hooray!! Today is her baby shower & I hope she gets absolutely spoilt rotten!! Erica is my brother's wife & they're expecting their first baby at the start of January. It's a surprise, so I was challenged to make her pressies unisex, but I had an absolute ball making this blanket & love the end result!

Here's the blanket I made. The fabric is white with neon patterns on it in all the colours of the rainbow (nearly anyway hehehe)! I put a 1 inch layer of black in between each layer of colour & I love how striking it is! I put an organic cotton filler inside it so the baby won't overheat if they use it in the cot & it will also be nice & soft if they use it on the floor. I've also included my lovely bunny slippers in the pic hehehe! :P

And here's the card I made for her...

I've used the Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper, layered with the Mint Macaron & Tip Top Taupe cardstock. The sentiment is from the Big News stamp set & so is the little one inside the card. I used Lost Lagoon ink for both stamps.

Lastly, here's a little tag I made with some bits & pieces I had lying around.

I hope you & Erica both love my little goodies!! Please leave a comment if you like my post & remember to follow me so you get all my updates! :)

Thank you cards for Kaley

I was recently contacted via my eBay store by this lovely lady Kaley who wanted me to make her some thank you cards to give to her son's kindergarten teachers. I used the Just Add Cake Designer Paper Series (DSP) & Whisper White cardstock for all of the following cards. I suggested a flower with her son's face in the middle & this is what we came up with:

Version 1 - Tangelo Twist

I used the Beautiful Bunch stamp in Lost Lagoon ink & matching Fun Flower punch to make the flowers & doubled them up, orange on top of red with a 1 inch Scallop Punch in yellow on top. I also used the little flower stamp from the Pictogram Punches stamp set in Watermelon Wonder ink. The thank you stamp is from the Another Thank You stamp set & again, I used the Lost Lagoon ink.

Inside the card, I used another one of the flowers from the Beautiful Bunch in Tangelo Twist and the thank you stamp is from the Big News stamp set in Lost Lagoon. I also used the Lost Lagoon ink to stamp the flower on the corner of the envelopes. Kaley requested more blue & yellow, less orange & for the card to be blank inside.

Version 2 - Pacific Point

In this version I swapped out the orange background for blue & swapped out the orange flower for yellow. I then put the red flower on top of the yellow so that the yellow center would stand out more. And I took off the little flower stamps near the thank you stamp. Kaley requested a comic sans type font for the thank you stamp & for it to be placed under the flower. She also requested two butterflies above the flower.

Final Version

Here's the final version, although I have not included Kaley's son's face as I didn't want to post someone else's baby photos all over the internet. I used a 7/8 inch Scallop punch for Kaley's son's face so just a little yellow from the center would show around it. The thank you stamp has come from the Big News stamp set in Lost Lagoon ink and the butterflies come from the Best Thoughts stamp set in Hello Honey ink. I've left the butterflies flat against the card & slightly bent up the edges of the flowers for a 3D effect. I also put a small blue border around the thank you stamp to make it stand out a bit better.

I wish I could show you the version with her son's pic on it, he is as cute as a button!!

Versions 1 & 2 are available in my eBay shop.

Big News! More baby cards!

I made some more baby cards, this time with the Big News stamp set. It's the same one I used to make Tayla's graduation card, it's so versatile! I don't know why I'm so obsessed with making baby cards at the moment lol maybe another baby is on the cards? Heheheh, no not just yet, I need to get some sleep first! :P

No big surprises here, I used Lost Lagoon ink & added rhinestones! I layered Tip Top Taupe cardstock on top of Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment & I also used Whisper White for the base. You could use Pretty Petals DSP to make something similar.

The baby cards (I made two the same) are available for sale in my eBay shop.

Below are the products I've used to make the above cards:

Tayla's Graduation Card

I've been playing with the Big News stamp set & have made some goodies! This was one of the three sets I got during the recent 20% off Stampin' Up! sale & I love them!!

I was asked by a family friend to make a card for her granddaughter's graduation. I was asked to use black, white & rose gold (I didn't have any rose gold but I hope my watermelon & gold combo is close enough!), to make the card big & to say 'congratulations Tayla' on the front. I absolutely loved making this card & think the results are really striking, even if I say so myself!! I really hope Tayla loves it & has a great graduation - Congratulations Tayla!! :)

This retired black & white arrow DSP just jumped out at me! But you could use something from the Back to Black DSP to make something similar. I've layered it on the Gold Foil cardstock & Basic Black cardstock, on top of a Whisper White A4 base. This card is twice the size I normally make but I think it suits the occasion!

For the sentiment, I cut a rectangle of the Watermelon Wonder cardstock & taped the outside with washi tape, which was a technique Kylie used recently. You could use something from the Everyday Chic Washi Tapes to make something similar.

I've doubled up the 'congratulations!' stamp with Basic Black ink & went over the top with Gold ink. I then added the letter tiles & a popped it up on some Dimensionals. Lastly, I added a strip of the Gold Sequin Trim & half hid it under the sentiment. I've also used Basic Black ink for the 'is there no limit to your awesomeness' stamp inside the card.

You're in my thoughts

This morning I did another bunch of get well/sympathy cards. It's a shame I need so many of them! Wouldn't it be nice if there wasn't any ill health & sad endings in the world?

I've used the gorgeous Corner Garden stamp with the Tip Top Taupe ink. I was contemplating colouring in the flowers a little bit but I think on the coloured paper, the plain Taupe looks better. I've used Whisper White cardstock for my card base.

The Corner Garden stamp has so much detail in it, it's really quite stunning. My sentiment has come from the Best Thoughts stamp set & I've used the Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp it. I've used the Decorative Label punch with the Mint Macaron & Blackberry Bliss cardstock & popped it up on some Dimensionals to make the sentiment really pop.

And of course, I finished off with three little rhinestones, just because I can't help it! But they just fit perfectly into the center of the three little flowers, so the stamp was really asking me to do it.

If you like this card, I'd love it if you left me a comment! And please follow my page so you get all my updates :)

These cards are available for sale in my eBay shop.

Something for Baby Bundle

I went on a bit of a frenzy & made a stack more of the baby cards in pink as promised, and some yellow & green... But now I've sold all my blue ones, so I have to get some nice blue paper to make some more lol stay tuned for more blue ones :P

I used the Tip Top Taupe ink again (I'm loving these In Colour colours!) for the pram stamp, which I then cut out on the Big Shot using the matching pram Baby's First Framelits Die.

I've also used the little duck & heart from the Something for Baby stamp set on the corner of the envelopes cos it's so cute, I just wanted to use it somewhere!

And I've used the little bottle from the Silhouettes & Script stamp set in the Tip Top Taupe on the inside.

Here's a list of the products I've used to make the baby cards:

Jingle All the Way Bundle

Hello fellow bloggers! I hope you're all well on this cold & overcast Victorian day lol :P

This morning my lovely husband took the baby out so I could have a sleep in, but do you think I could sleep? No way! All I could think about was making a purple & silver Christmas card with the Jingle All the Way bundle... So I got out of bed & made this chirpy little number in my dressing gown!

I've used the Whisper White cardstock for the base, with a sheet from the Moonlight DSP Stack then layered Blackberry Bliss, Silver Foil, Tip Top Taupe & Whisper White to make the scenery. The border is Delightful Dijon & you know I can't help myself, I just had to stick a little rhinestone 'moon' on there! I used all three dies from the Sleigh Ride edgelits & cut them out using the Big Shot.

There's still a couple of the Moonlight DSP Stacks left in the Clearance Rack, get on it quick before they all sell out! I've got two sets but I'm thinking of getting another & at $4.79 you can't go wrong!! I just love this DSP stack!!

I love how much detail is in the Sleigh Ride edgelits! I've slightly overlapped them over two layers, as I think it brings the scenery to life a little bit more, but these edgelits also look great just using one at a time. Check out Stampin' Up's Pinterest page for more inspiration!

On the inside I've just gone really simple cos there's already so much going on on the front. I've used the Jingle All the Way stamp set 'merry everything' stamp & one of the little foxes in the corner. I've used the Tip Top Taupe ink to keep in with the colour scheme.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #213

So today I'm going to try my first challenge!Yay!! Freshly Made Sketches put the below sketch out. The deal is to keep it clean & simple.

So this is my take on the sketch, it took all my strength to not stick rhinestones on the little yellow flowers! I'm pretty proud of myself for not using any Lost Lagoon either :P

I've used the Moonlight DSP stack which is in the Clearance Rack at the moment, so you better be quick smart & jump on it while there's still some left! There are some really lovely designs in there! My link down the bottom says $11.95 but its on sale now for $4.79! What a bargain!!

I used the Flower Patch stamp set with the Hello Honey for the flowers, Tip Top Taupe for the leaves & Blackberry Bliss for the sentiment. These colours go perfectly with the Moonlight DSP designs. I propped the top layer up on some trusty Dimensionals.

And then on the inside I used some other stamps from the Flower Patch stamp set. I was going to use this big flower in Blackberry Bliss on the front over the top of the other flowers & leaves but I felt it would be too busy for what the Sketch was about. I love my big flowers though! :)

I would absolutely love it if you would leave me a comment & tell me what you think?

Crazy Crafters November 2015 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for November. This month we are excited to show off our "Most used stamp sets". We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog, or you may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Jessie Holton.

This is my first blog hop, so I hope you enjoy it! With Christmas coming up, I've been using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set & matching Snowflakes Punch like they're going out of fashion & I love, love, love the Lost Lagoon ink!!!

But seriously, how great are the results from this one little set!! And these cards were so fun & easy to make!

I've used the Lost Lagoon ink for everything except the smaller of the two big snowflakes stamped directly on the cards, for which I used Mint Macaron instead. I doubled up the Lost Lagoon ink on the Lost Lagoon card for the stuck on snowflakes and gave them the 3D effect with a little Dimensional under each one. I added a couple of little aqua coloured rhinestones for a bit of extra pizazz. And of course, they're on Whisper White card, A4 cut in half, then folded in half, so I get two cards out of an A4 sheet.

I'd love it if you left a comment for me & follow my page. Please see my links to my Facebook & Pinterest pages also. I like to try & get a card post up every few days, baby permitting :P

Get these cards in my eBay shop or see the link below for the products used & then please click on the next person on the list to continue the fun times in this November Blog Hop!!
