April Card Making Class

Here's the produce from my April card making class at the local Community Centre, SpringDale.Last month was a bit chaotic with a few too many choices, so this month I decided to focus on techniques. Here are the cards I made up for the class:

The first card we learnt shading with Daubers, background stamping, heat embossing & two step stamping.
  • Wild About Flowers & Timeless Textures stamp sets
  • Whisper White & Calypso Coral cardstock
  • White heat emboss powder, versamark ink & heat tool
  • Calypso Coral & Sahara Sand inks
  • String from my stash

For the second card we learnt the Bleaching Technique. We used the Project Life Card Collections for the backgrounds, trimmed slightly to fit.
  • Remarkable You stamp set
  • Happiness is Project Life Card Collection & Playground Project Life Card Collection - both in the Clearance Rack, but only while stocks last
  • Black & White heat emboss powder, versamark ink & heat tool
  • Mossy Meadow & Crumb Cake inks
  • String from my stash

For the third card, we learnt an easy Double Pocket Fold Card. For this you need a sheet of double sided Designer Series Paper (DSP) cut to 8.5" x 11". Fold the card in half & in half again so when you open it up, it has a cross on it. Open it up & fold the two diagonal corners in, so they line up with the vertical fold & then fold up the bottom half again & close so you end up with a pocket on the front & a pocket on the inside. Embellish or leave plain as you wish. I've made a simple belly band with a square of Gold Foil scrap for mine. We've used Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP which is in the Clearance Rack, but only while stocks last. These cards are great to have a little tag in the front with a bit of ribbon attached & a little gift card or small gift inside. They actually fit the Dimensionals, Candy Dots, Rhinestones & Pearls pretty well if you want to gift someone them :)

Once again I forgot to take pics of all the girls cards! I would forget my head if it wasn't screwed on! But here are Irene's cards. Once again, she's done an amazing job!
