Bella & Friends Watercolour

Hi Crafters!

Today I have another Bella & Friends card from my Class for you. This one is a really simple but cute card.

For this card, I have used a Wisteria Wonder card base, with a piece of Watercolour paper over the top. For this part, use some washi tape or masking tape to tape down the edges. Make sure it's straight, as this will become your white border. Next, you want to wet the watercolour paper, lots! I have used half of the water held in the base of the Aqua Painter to wet the watercolour paper. You want to have a layer of water sitting on top so that when you paint it with colour, it spreads easily. Otherwise, you will get brush stroke marks, instead of the blended look. I have used a watered down Marina Mist ink for the sky & a watered down Wild Wasabi ink for the grass.

I have left a little space in between the grass & sky to stamp the sentiment & I have used the balloon pup floating off in the sky with his little parrot friend. I have stamped these in Archival Basic Black ink. You could colour these images in, but I have chosen to leave them so that you can see the watercolouring in the background.

Pretty Kitty - Layout & Basic Watercolouring Tutorial

Hi Crafters!

Today I have a really cute card for you, using the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! This card is part of the cards I have designed for my Pretty Kitty class. If you would like to join in my classes (also available as kits in the mail), please click here.

Isn't this a sweet little card! I love how this has turned out! I have used Melon Mambo cardstock with a slice of Irresistibly Floral, which I have coloured in with the Aqua Painter & Smoky Slate. Then I have used the Lots of Label framelits (2nd & 3rd largest sizes) for the Basic Black DSP (Neutrals Stack) and a layer of Shimmery White cardstock. I have used the Archival Basic Black ink to stamp the image & sentiment from the Pretty Kitty stamp set & I have used the Blender Pen to colour them in with Melon Mambo, Smoky Slate & Mint Macaron. This card shows similar technique & card layout to the Bella & Friends card I posted the other day.

I have been inspired by the colour combo from the Global Design Project for this card.

I have also completed a tutorial for this card.

Falling Flowers Anniversary Cards

Hi Crafters!

Today I have some Anniversary Cards I've made up using the Falling Flowers stamp set & matching May Flowers framelits. They are so gorgeous! I can't get enough of this bundle!

For these cards I have used the following products:
Cardstock & matching inks: Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizazz, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
DSP: Irisistibly Floral sponged with So Saffron
Stamps: Falling Flowers, Rose Garden & Large Numbers
Framelits: May Flowers & Rose Wonder

Embellishments: Basic Jewel Rhinestones.

Bella & Friends

Hi Crafters!

Today I have a really cute little card for you all, using the Bella & Friends stamp set. This is one of the cards that I will give a tutorial on in my upcoming class on 23 July. To see more about my classes, click on the Class Schedule over on the right hand side of my blog.

I have used a Whisper White Notecard (these come in a pack of 20 & are also available in Crumb Cake), with a 3 x 6" layer of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper, watercoloured with Wisteria Wonder using an Aqua Painter. Then I have layered up a piece of Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals Stack with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock. I have used the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut both these layers out, using the 2nd & 3rd biggest framelits in the set. Shimmery White or Watercolour paper are best for watercolouring on as the normal cardstock will flake.

I have stamped the image with Archival Black & let dry before using a Blender Pen to colour in the picture. I have used Smoky Slate for Bella & Emerald Envy for the turtle & grass. I also coloured part of the turtle shell in with Smoky Slate, to give in some shading. With Bella, I have coloured around the outside of the pup first & the eye & then gone over the whole image again, so the outline is darker.

If you don't have the reinkers, you can squeeze your ink pad gently, so you get some ink inside the lid, then add a drop of water & mix. Then you have a nice mixture to pick up with your Blender Pen or Aqua Painter. The Aqua Painter is better for larger areas & has a bigger brush tip. You fill the Aqua Painter with water or alcohol & you can squeeze it to release a drop at a time. The Blender Pen is better for smaller areas with more detail & has a finer brush tip. The Blender Pen is pre filled with a special blending liquid & is not squeezable.

The colours for this card have been inspired by the Pootles #2 Colour Challenge.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Tracy May

Hi Crafters!

Today we are excited to be CASE-ing (Copy & Selectively Edit) Tracy May, who is also joining us on this hop! How exciting!

I hope you find great inspiration from all the projects in this hop. You may be starting the hop here at my blog (Jessie Holton) or you may have come from the previous person on the list. Be sure to click on the next person in the list to continue your blog hop adventure casing Tracy's work.

Here is the card I have chosen to case from Tracy! I just LOVE the Fairy Celebration stamp set.Click here to see Tracy's blog post for this card.

I haven't taken a very literal CASE of Tracy's card, but just took inspiration from the fairy. I made a similar card in my previous post, but this one is a little more jazzed up & I have made it in a bunch of different colours.

For the first few, I have used the specialty copper embossed paper from the Affectionately Yours DSP. The little fairy is stamped in Pink Pirouette & is from the Fairy Celebration stamp set.

I have used Watermelon Wonder embossed with Iridescent Ice (retired) for the fairy dust. In order to do this, I have first inked up with Versamark & then inked up with Watermelon Wonder on top, then sprinkled with the heat emboss powder & set with the heat tool. I have also used Watermelon Wonder embossed with Copper (bow stamp) for the lid.

The sentiment is also embossed in Copper & is from the Fairy Celebration stamp set. The label stamp comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set & the matching framelit comes from the Rose Garden framelits.

I have also heat embossed retired Iridescent Ice onto Vellum with the small butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set & cut out with the matching Bitty Butterfly Punch. I love that SU coordinates all of it's products so they fit perfectly together!

Lastly, I have added a length of the new Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon under the sentiment. The jar & lid have been cut out on the Big Shot using the Everyday Jars framelits. The sentiment & the jar are propped up on Dimensionals.

Here's a Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder & Copper heat embossed version. I just adore this craft & copper paper!

And a Pool Party & Copper version, using Pool Party ink with the retired Glitter Ribbon from the Occasions catalog. And Copper heat embossing.

For these next few, I have used the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. This one is Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron & Watermelon Wonder.

Here's a Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder & metallic Silver version with Silver heat embossing. Did you guys know that you get 4 sheets of metallic gold & 4 sheets of metallic silver at the back of the Neutrals DSP stack? Awesome!!

Here's a Bermuda Bay, Pool Party & Soft Suede with Copper heat embossing version.

And lastly, a Silver, Bermuda Bay & Pool Party version with Silver heat embossing.

Fairy Celebration meets Jar of Love Bundle!

Hi Crafters!

Today I have a lovely little card that I have been thinking about ever since I saw the new catalog! I'm very excited to show you my Fairy card! I have made up a whole bunch of these in different colours (photos to come) & I still want to make a shaker card version, so stay tuned for that!

I have used a Watermelon Wonder card base, with some of the specialty copper embossed paper from the Floral Affection DSP. I have used Mint Macaron to stamp the largest jar from the Jar of Love stamp set on Whisper White cardstock. Then I have added the little fairy from the Fairy Celebration stamp set in Pink Pirouette.

I have used Watermelon Wonder embossed with Iridescent Ice (retired) for the fairy dust. Classes! Register now!

Hi Crafters!

I'm starting classes at my place on a regular basis. I've put a bunch of classes up in my Calendar for July & August, but I will be updating it with more classes until the end of the year at least. Most of them have interchangeable stamp sets or ink colours, so if you like the date but not the product, we can change it up. I'll also have all my kits available for mailing if you can't make it to my class or you're not a local, you can still participate.

I'm so excited! I've got so many great sets to show you all! If you want to RSVP for a class, please go to my Calendar & you can register under each class you like. I will be contacting everyone as they register, so if you want to change up the stamps or colours, you can let me know. All classes need to be paid for by two weeks prior to the class so that I have time to receive your payment & order the products. Kits have been discounted so you all share in the Hostess Rewards each class.

Next Class - 16 July - 10am - Mixed Borders stamp set  

For this $55 class (valued at $65), the suggested stamp set is the Mixed Borders stamp set from page 122 of the Annual Catalog (please contact me if you would like a copy of the catalog). The suggested inks are Pool Party, Pink Pirouette & Pear Pizazz. Please note that only one ink is included in each Card Kit however, I can order additional products for your Card Kit upon request.

I'm running a bunch of different Card Kit Classes each month. Come to all, come to some, come when it suits you! When you have completed three classes, you will earn a Special Card Kit (valued at $35 appx) as my gift to you - there are six to collect. Each class, I will suggest a stamp set & ink colours however, if you already have them/don't like them, choose another & I'll happily swap it out for you (stamp sets to the value of $37 included or you can pay the difference).

Each card kit contains:

• One Clear Mount or Photopolymer stamp set (Wood Mount available upon request)
• One Classic Stampin' Pad (ink pad)
• Coordinating Cardstock for Six cards
• Six Coordinating Envelopes
• Coordinating Designer Series Paper for Six cards
• Full colour pictures of sample cards & instructions

If you would like additional products contained in your kit, please contact me for the total cost.

Each attendant receives a small gift from me at their first class. All of my kits are available to be posted ($8.25) or delivered (Clifton Springs & surrounds) to you if you can't make it on the day.

Payments to be made by PayPal a minimum of two weeks prior to the class so that I can order & receive the products in time for the class. I order on the 15th & last day of each month & then delivery takes a week. Please contact me if you would prefer to pay by a different method. BYO clear blocks, scissors & adhesives. These are products that you will need at each class. If you don't have these products, I can order them for you.
